The first garden of my own
Guanock House
When I first moved to Guanock, the five-acre site was a field,
completely without structure or planting. Over 10 years, I created
a formal garden which included herbaceous, rose and knot gardens, a
walled kitchen garden and a wilderness. Guanock was a very
important place for me, it enabled me to explore my design ideas
and be a hands-on gardener. Now I have moved to Allt-y-bela, which
is a complete change of landscape and you can see in the pictures
in my journal and portfolio that I have to develop the garden in a
very different way. It is always a continual process of learning
and experimenting.
