How we work

The garden design practice is based in London and was set up in 1990. Arne works with a small, professional team on a great range of commissions from tiny urban gardens to large country estates, both in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Arne is involved in every aspect of every project the practice undertakes. He really enjoys working closely with each client in order to create a highly individual garden - entirely personal to them, their lifestyle and their home. He views his job as a form of reinterpretation: "I'm there to gather the information from the client and mentally file it and then rewrite it in a way that gives them a garden that's theirs, but that still belongs to the property and the location."

The company provides a range of services - from a one-off consultation - right through to a 'Signature Garden' where Arne is involved in overseeing every part of the creation of the garden.

He is passionate about the gardens he designs and where possible prefers to see each project through from concept to completion. In doing so he can guarantee the greatest attention to detail at every stage of the process and make certain that each garden completely reflects the client's wishes. The benefit of Arne's experience and contacts with exceptional nurseries, craftspeople and suppliers ensures the highest quality of the finished garden.

Many of the clients retain a relationship with the company long after the garden is completed, and Arne is always pleased to be involved as the garden develops and grows.
