A family garden
For a country house in Norfolk
When I first visited this large walled garden, the entire four
acre site was laid down to grass. A swimming pool and tennis court
at one end were separated from the rest of the garden by tumbledown
larch-lap fencing. While it was important to stay true to the
garden's origins as a vegetable garden, four acres of vegetables
were not going to be needed by the present owners. Instead we have
combined vegetables and flowers to create a magical contemporary
garden that retains its strong sense of place.
