The Edible Garden

Feasting on home-grown produce is so satisfying that Arne finds ways of adding edible plants to almost every type of garden.  On this course he will show different ways of including the most rewarding vegetables, fruits and herbs in the kitchen garden and elsewhere. Fruit trees can form avenues or divisions in the garden, pots can be filled with edibles like blueberries that do well even on a shady terrace and herb gardens can be mixed with roses and box to give structure, colour and pickings for the table.

In the main kitchen garden Arne will show how the raised beds at Allt-y-bela work hard to give a plentiful supply of vegetables for the house, and how by introducing just one or two of these beds, with careful planting choices, you can enjoy fresh salads and fruit throughout the year.
